Western Michigan University and Jiro Dreams of Sushi

I’ll be traveling to Kalamazoo, Michigan in a few days to conduct a two-day workshop (demonstrations and artist lecture) at Western Michigan University.   My plan is to make a pit stop in Bowling Green, Ohio to visit BGSU where I taught ceramics last year.  I’m looking forward to reconnecting with former students and colleagues in Ohio and meeting new friends in Michigan.

Recently, my husband shared a DVD with me, Jiro Dreams of Sushi, that I urge all artists to watch.  Beautifully filmed, this inspiring story of 85-year old sushi chef, Jiro Ono, is sure to make you fall in love with the art-making process all over again.  Click here to link to a review of Jiro by Silvia Killingsworth at the New Yorker.   Enjoy!
